Did you know that:
There are more biblical texts that directly address money and possessions than love, hope, and prayer COMBINED?
17 out of 38 (45%) of Jesus’ parables involved money and possessions?
About 1 in 6 verses of the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John refer to money or possessions?
This may cause you to ask, “Why would God choose to focus so much of His Word on money?” The answer is simple: money is usually the #1 competitor for our hearts. As Jesus said, “No servant can serve two masters...You cannot serve God and money” (Luke 16:13 ESV).
Tithing is not a burdensome duty, but a form of worship as we cheerfully give back to the One who has given so generously to us. When we are faithful in our tithing, we demonstrate that God, not money, has a hold of our hearts.
As a church, we are participating in the 90 Days Tithing Challenge and welcome you to join us. Complete the form below and text 90DAYS to (615) 933-2856 to receive weekly updates and encouragement from Ps. James.
Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.
When we give, we honor God, we bless others, and we open the door for God to bless us.
